We did not carry out our charitable work for government – Narek Karapetyan

The majority of Armenians live beyond Armenia’s borders. Sometimes they are much more motivated and can express their opinion about their homeland, Narek Karapetyan, nephew of Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, said in a conversation with reporters.

“We did not carry out our charitable work for the government. We did it for our country—to serve our people—without demanding anything in return,” Narek Karapetyan said.

He noted that the majority of Armenians support the church. “It is deeply puzzling that a head of state, with such strong church traditions, could hold a negative attitude toward one of the country’s key institutions,” he said.
