‘We expect Armenia and France to take real steps at the legislative level’: Bayramov on flag burning

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a joint press conference with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas that Baku expects tangible actions from Armenia, Azerbaijani media reported.

“We have repeatedly stated that Armenia should amend its Constitution and agree to the final dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group,” he said.

Bayramov said Baku was “concerned about the growth of revanchist sentiments in Armenia and the active import of offensive weapons.”

Referring to the burning of Turkish and Azerbaijani flags in Yerevan’s Republic Square before the torchlight procession on April 23, he said, “Unfortunately, a similar act took place in Paris. We expect both Armenia and France to take real steps at the legislative level to prevent such provocations. Disrespecting the state symbols of other countries is unacceptable”.
