At a joint press conference with his Romanian counterpart Luminița-Teodora Odobescu in Bucharest, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov called on Armenia not to miss the opportunity to sign a peace treaty, RIA Novosti reports.

He noted that the end of the “occupation of Azerbaijani lands” and “the restoration of [Azerbaijan’s] sovereignty” open new prospects for the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“This normalization, based on mutual recognition and respect for each other’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability of borders, will not only benefit Azerbaijan and Armenia but will also ensure the realization of untapped opportunities for cooperation both within and outside the region.

Taking this opportunity, I would like to emphasize Azerbaijan’s peace agenda once again. On the other hand, we expect a constructive approach and mutual steps. We hope that this special chance will not be missed,” Bayramov said.
