Georgia unequivocally welcomes the statement by Armenia and Azerbaijan on the completion of talks on the peace agreement and hopes that the peace agreement will be signed in the near future, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili said in a press briefing following his meeting with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

“Georgia unequivocally welcomes the March 13, 2025 statement by Armenia and Azerbaijan on the completion of talks on the peace agreement. We believe this is the beginning of an important process that requires further joint efforts to create a peaceful, secure, stable and developed South Caucasus region. We hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will sign a peace agreement in the near future, thus enhancing positive development in the region,” he said.

Kavelashvili also noted that during his meeting with the Armenian President, they spoke about the trilateral meeting held in Georgia’s Tbilisi on April 17, which is the beginning of trilateral cooperation between the countries of the South Caucasus.

“Georgia is unwaveringly committed to the process of establishing peace and stability in the South Caucasus. We are ready to deepen regional cooperation in all areas and contribute to the establishment of a just and peaceful multifunctional international order,” he concluded.
