We will fence landfill in Shahumyan, install cameras – Sevak Khachatryan

We will fence the landfill located in Shahumyan, cameras will be installed, and checkpoints will be set up so that waste is dumped in the landfill, announced Sevak Khachatryan, candidate of the “Victory” bloc for the head of Vagharshapat.

“Dear residents of Vagharshapat, I want to address a very important issue—the problem of our community’s landfill, which is, to put it mildly, in a catastrophic state. We will fence the landfill in Shahumyan, cameras will be installed, and checkpoints will be set up so that waste is dumped in the landfill, and not wherever people want.

Today, the landfill seems to have spread onto people’s private farmland, and they are unable to engage in agriculture. There will be no burning of waste, because we and our children are breathing in the smoke filled with chemical substances. You will no longer see clouds of smoke from burning garbage or fogs releasing toxic substances.

And finally, through cooperation between the private sector and the community, we will establish a modern waste recycling plant, in which the community will also have its share,” Khachatryan noted.
