We will overcome stress only in Artsakh — Lusine Gharakhanyan

The loss of Artsakh haunts us every day, Lusine Gharakhanyan, the former Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Artsakh, told Alpha News.
“We really mobilized all our resources and forces during the 10-month blockade. What is happening to the people of Artsakh today is a new subject for scientific study because this is not only post-traumatic stress disorder; this is an attack on people’s mental world, identity. You have to work hard to overcome post-traumatic stress,” she said.
Gharakhanyan is sure that stress can be overcome only in Artsakh.
“If you ask me, the hardest thing is not the physical destruction, but the destruction of my identity. Every day, in the most literal sense of the word, the identity, past and memory of the people of Artsakh are being attacked with different messages. This is very hard and impossible to overcome.
Thousands of hypocritical international organizations are holding some events with different target groups of children of Artsakh, group therapy, or individual therapy. All that has zero value. It can have a small effect. They can simply adapt to the new environment, but if you say that they will overcome all this, it is a lie. They can only overcome this in Artsakh,” Lusine Gharakhanyan said.
She noted that the crisis is deepening, further aggravating the emotional background of the Artsakh people.
“Artsakh people are genetically very strong. Each of us has created our own little world in Armenia. For example, I created my world in the Tumanyan Museum, you created it in Alpha News, I am sorry, but this is a temporary consolation. The loss of Artsakh haunts us every day in our consciousness. We really haven’t overcome this collapse yet. The more time will pass, the deeper it will be.
It’s been a year, and it seems like we need to relax. But in reality, the crisis is deepening and our emotional background and thoughts are getting worse,” the former Artsakh official concluded.
