‘We will turn Armenia into a prosperous country, leaving the word poverty in the past’ — Samvel Karapetyan

The legal team representing businessman, philanthropist, and owner of the Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, has released the eighth part of his open letter.

“What have the current authorities managed to accomplish? The unifying system of values in the Republic of Armenia has been dealt a serious blow. War heroes have been turned into deserters, heroic soldiers into isolated invalids, mothers of heroes into protesting women who lost their sons, Artsakh people who fought for years into homeless refugees. And young people and students are left disoriented—seeing people who see their future outside the homeland.

Business and private sector were turned into an object of ‘squeezing money’, and entrepreneurs were turned into enemies. Thus, the current authorities have almost completely succeeded in destroying the country’s domestic investment climate.

The current authorities have tried to isolate journalists, who were honorably carrying out their mission to nullify reasonable and truthful speech or criticism, instead filling public platforms with streams of dirt.

Through insults they managed to create an atmosphere of fear, and for the first time an Armenian man was powerless to defend the dignity of his wife and daughter.

We will definitely turn Armenia into a prosperous country, leave the word ‘poverty’ in the past, and clear public space of profanity and garbage. We will fight. To be continued…,” Samvel Karapetyan said in a statement.
