West is only witness, not guarantor – Andranik Baloyan

Andranik Baloyan, director and co-founder of the Armenian Eagles Foundation, spoke to Alpha News about Armenia’s security situation and Western promises, questioning the effectiveness of the projects promoted by the current authorities.
He recalled bitter historical experiences, noting that the policies of superpowers can change overnight.
“Living in America, we know that everything changes from one president to another. The example is there: Afghanistan. Overnight they woke up, and that was it. Thousands of people who had cooperated with the US were simply killed. The same happened with the Kurds,” Baloyan said.
According to him, America is not a guarantor but merely a witness, while the TRIPP route will be monitored by some third organization, one of whose shareholders is Azerbaijan.
Baloyan predicts that after the roads are put into operation, Azerbaijan will present new demands.
“They will justify it by saying the road is not safe and will demand that their police or troops be stationed there. We have seen the example of Syria,” he said.
