‘Whatever you say, this is a project to seize ENA’: Anna Grigoryan to Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration

The Armenian National Assembly is debating a draft law, authored by the Civil Contract party, concerning the nationalization of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA). Anna Grigoryan, an MP from the Armenia faction, questioned Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan why the process of “seizing” the “ENA” should be discussed urgently.

“A strategically important issue has been put on the agenda, and you are proposing to discuss the process of ‘seizing’ the ENA 24 hours a day, which will actually have a negative impact on the general investment climate. Now you’re saying we need to discuss this urgently. Why is it urgent? I’ll tell you: there is a well-known statement by Samvel Karapetyan regarding the protection of the Church—that’s why the government is in such a hurry. If you don’t agree with this approach, then justify why we should urgently discuss this project,” Grigoryan asked the Deputy Minister.
