Arayik Sargsyan, co-author of the documentary “I Remember Your Voice”, told Alpha News that the world is trying to turn a blind eye to what happened in Artsakh, which is why they decided to make a documentary on the subject.
“I am one of the co-authors of the first documentary film about the ethnic cleansing and blockade of Artsakh. The idea for the film was born in a circle of friends, and we decided to take action. We really need such a film right now, and it was also important for us to present it internationally. The world seems to be trying to ignore this reality, so we decided to make a documentary that tells the story of what happened in Artsakh,” Sargsyan said.
According to him, the filming process was difficult for the team, and especially for him personally.
“I’m from the town of Chartar in the Martuni region, and it was quite hard for me to hear these stories again, to meet people personally and learn about their pain. But I did my best to stay composed throughout the process. Of course, the entire process—filming, editing, and everything else—has an impact, but now that the film has been released to the public, we are truly inspired,” Sargsyan emphasized.
