Yaakov Kedmi: The more Armenia gives in to Azerbaijan’s threats, the more Azerbaijan’s appetite will increase

Speaking with Alpha News, political expert Yaakov Kedmi commented on the prospect of signing a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku amid new threats from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the expert, the more the Armenian Prime Minister gives in to certain threats or proposals from Azerbaijan, the more Baku’s appetite will increase.

“No agreement that has been signed or will be signed as the final one will ever be final. New agreements will further appear, especially in light of what the President of Azerbaijan said recently when he called Armenia ‘Western Azerbaijan’. The pressure on Armenia in this direction will continue as concessions or betrayals are made by the man who is currently the Prime Minister of Armenia. It started with the betrayal in Karabakh. All this will end with only one thing, when Armenia turns into ‘Western Azerbaijan’ according to Azerbaijan’s plans. Only Armenia’s disagreement and non-acceptance of these conditions can confront this,” Kedmi said.

According to the political scientist, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan systematically betrays all the national interests of the Armenian state.

“So far, Armenia is going downhill, constantly losing its positions. The Prime Minister of Armenia repeatedly and systematically betrays all the national interests of the Armenian state. All this will continue as long as this man is the Prime Minister of Armenia and pursues his treacherous policy, betraying the interests of the Armenian people. Pashinyan’s policy gives strength and grounds to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to act in this way in the East and the Caucasus. Those who renounce their national interests, as was the case with Nagorno-Karabakh, will be pressured to the end. Only those who defend their interests and fight for them can withstand and defend their country,” Kedmi concluded.
