On Thursday, the Armenian government decided to allocate 120 million drams (approx. $300,000) from the reserve fund of the 2023 state budget for hosting the 21st fall session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan on November 18-20.
It should be noted that the event was supposed to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, however, in February 2023 the government of Uzbekistan reversed its decision to host the session due to political reasons.
Holding this event in Yerevan will give Armenia the opportunity to host around 350 MPs of the delegations of the 57 OSCE member states. During the session, three general commissions will discuss a number of issues related to the South Caucasus.
Members of the delegations of a number of these countries have already expressed their wish to visit Armenia’s borders where the EU mission conducts monitoring.
It is also planned to hold bilateral meetings between the delegations of different countries and relevant friendship groups of the National Assembly.
