At around 3:00 pm, a group of Israeli extremist settlers entered the Armenian quarter, Cows’ Garden (Goveroun Bardez), where the Armenian community was having a peaceful sit-in. This was reported by the Armenian community on X.

One of them, Danny Rothman, backed by 15 settlers, demanded the expulsion of the Armenians, shouting that this was their land.

The Armenians refused to back down and stood firmly on their rightfully owned property.

Israeli police arrived at the scene to defuse the situation, which prompted more settlers to arrive in a show of force.

George Warwar, a Christian Arab, the head of Xana Capital and Rothman’s business partner, also threatened the Armenians, saying that he would get them one by one.

One of the settlers shouted that the Armenians are “all Goys and when the messiah comes, [they] will all die.”

Karnig Kerkonian, the head of the legal team, called for an emergency meeting with other members of the team in Jerusalem and the community activists to discuss further legal measures in light of the incursion into Armenian Patriachate grounds in the Old City.

As of now, the settlers have reportedly left the premises.
