Young Armenian chess player Tyhran Ambartsumian becomes European blitz champion

Young Armenian chess player Tyhran Ambartsumian claimed victory in the open blitz tournament held as part of the European Youth Chess Championship in Budva, Montenegro, the Chess Federation of Armenia reports.

The 13-year-old Ambartsumian scored 8 out of a possible 9 points, securing first place in the final standings. The tournament had no age restrictions, which made his victory especially significant.

A total of 288 chess players from 40 countries took part in the competition.
