Russian Vice-Premier Aleksey Overchuk commented on the building of the railway on the territory of Iran bypassing Armenia.

According to him, the option to build a road bypassing Armenia through Iran to Nakhichevan with access to the border with Turkiye does not differ much from a road through Zangezur.

“It was estimated that the railway through the territory of Armenia will be 42 km, and through the territory of Iran it will be 50 km. That’s the whole difference: two bridges and 8 km. The track established in the CIS is 1,520 both here and there,” Overchuk said.
