Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora were one, and no one could have imagined that one day Artsakh would not be ours, ANCA National Board Member Zanku Armenian told Alpha News.

“I have seen the struggle of Artsakh since its beginning, many years ago. I was there in the 1980s, when the Karabakh movement started, and I participated in a demonstration. Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora were one, and no one could have imagined that one day Artsakh would not be ours. I have to say with a heavy heart that in recent years, when Azerbaijan was exerting pressure on Artsakh, the Armenian authorities chose a different path, leaving our brothers and sisters from Artsakh alone. When I saw that Armenia washed its hands of Artsakh and did not support it, I understood that we were going to lose Artsakh,” Armenian said.

He pointed out that, unfortunately, people both in Armenia and in the Diaspora do not fully realize the danger the homeland is facing.

“Now it is Tavush’s turn, and everything that happened in Tavush is the beginning of new concessions. Unfortunately, people both in Armenia and in the Diaspora do not fully realize the danger we are facing. They still hope that everything will be fine, but the reality is different. For all these years, I do not remember a day when the homeland faced such great danger. I do not remember a day when the question of its existence was so serious.

The enemy has surrounded us from all sides, and we have become weak because the leader of our country does not fight for his country, for his land. Today I live and work in the US, but I realize that the US pretends to support Armenia. The reality is different, which is confirmed by the US actions. Today, it shows great respect for Azerbaijan, despite the fact that the values of that country contradict the values of the US. As for Armenia, the US treats it superficially, which is unacceptable,” Armenian said.
