Russia continues to consistently provide substantial assistance to Armenia and the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
«In response to the call of the Armenian authorities, Russia has started supplying the republic with the necessary oil products such as 15,000 tons of gasoline and 20,000 tons of diesel fuel. As it became known, a difficult situation has developed in Armenia in this area as the country has almost used the reserves approved for the current year.
The autumn-winter period is ahead and Russia’s support will be very timely and useful. Despite the introduction by the Government of the Russian Federation on September 21 of a temporary ban on the export of commercial gasoline and diesel fuel from our country, the Russian side took a step towards its allies within the framework of the relevant intergovernmental agreement signed in December 2013,» the statement reads.
It is also noted that next week, Russian diplomats headed by Ambassador Sergey Kopyrkin will visit the Syunik region to work with the regional authorities to identify priority needs. Similar work will continue in other regions where displaced persons are based.
