There are two states in the 3+3 format that care about Armenia’s interests, Turkologist Tiran Lokmagyozyan told Alpha News.

“Representatives of five states have gathered in Istanbul. We can arrange it like this: on one side there are two states that care about the interests of Armenia. These are Russia and Iran. On the other side, there are three states that care about Turkey’s interests. These are Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.

Everything was done behind closed doors; the words presented to the press are veiled, of course. We can only make assumptions,” the turkologist said.

According to Lokmagyozyan, Armenia could have refused to go to the Turks, but Mirzoyan went and humiliated himself.

“In the 3+3 format, all the states have power and can do something in this policy except Armenia. Here, Armenia is the weakest link, the one receiving the instructions.

If some work had not been done before, the highest circles of those countries would not sit together and talk because there would simply be nothing to talk about. Surely some things had been done before that and some agreements had already been reached. It was remarkable and symbolic that the meeting took place in the Turkish house.

The head of our country went to the Turks, and there it was immediately clear who stands at the top and who is below. It happened not because Erdogan offered to go. The Armenian side could have refused. Going to the Turkish house, the head of our country immediately lost his position,” he concluded.
