Authorities have no answers on COP17 spending: Lena Matevosyan

The Strong Armenia party supports holding any international events and conferences in Armenia, since this raises the country’s prestige and international standing. However, it opposes the corruption schemes in the process of organizing COP17. This was said by Lena Matevosyan, lawmaker from the Strong Armenia faction, speaking about possible corruption risks tied to the organization of the climate conference.

According to her, instead of answering the questions put to them, representatives of the authorities tried to create the impression that the opposition was against holding the conference.

“Strong Armenia supports holding COP17. As my colleagues have already noted, Strong Armenia is against the corruption schemes that we have studied and seen what is happening,” the lawmaker said.
