Regional peace and stability in the Caucasus will be achieved through a comprehensive peace agreement to be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler said during the discussion of the Defense Ministry’s budget for 2025 in the country’s parliament, Turkish media reports.
It should be noted that official Yerevan and Baku said that about 80% of the peace deal has been agreed upon. Armenia proposes to sign the deal on the basis of the agreed points, thus having a fundamental document and continuing the discussion of unresolved issues. However, Azerbaijan considers this approach incomplete. Azerbaijan demands that Armenia change the Constitution because it considers the Declaration of Independence, which refers to the unification of Armenia and Artsakh, to be problematic.
