The Artsakh Chamber Orchestra will hold a concert in Yerevan on May 5, featuring world-renowned violinist Sergey Khachatryan. Twenty-five Artsakh musicians will also perform during the concert.

Opera singer Hasmik Papyan, who breathed new life into the Artsakh Chamber Orchestra, said during a press conference on the eve of the concert that the time will come and everyone will wish to support the orchestra.

Narek Hakhnazaryan, Armenian cellist, artistic director and chief conductor, described the orchestra as an ambitious cultural initiative dedicated to preserving and promoting the name “Artsakh” worldwide.

According to him, the orchestra faces one problem—financing, as the name “Artsakh” complicates the search for sponsors to some extent and “there are people in Armenia to whom it is clearly pointless to reach out.”
