Speaking with Alpha News, Vice President of the Alliance of Russian Travel Agencies Aleksan Mkrtchyan commented on the Armenian Finance Minister’s statement regarding the decline in tourist flow to the country and Russia’s fault for this.

“Let’s reflect on the statement by the respected Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia. Has Russia stopped issuing permits for flights to Armenia? No, fortunately not. Has Russia closed the Upper Lars highway for Russian citizens, preventing travel to Georgia and Armenia? No, it did not! Has Russia banned Russians from entering Armenia with an internal Russian passport? No, it hasn’t!” Mkrtchyan said.

According to Mkrtchyan, the number of flights to Armenia from Russia has only increased.

Mkrtchyan further questioned the competence of the Armenian Finance Minister and suggested that the Prime Minister of Armenia draw conclusions from this.

“I believe Prime Minister Mr. Pashinyan should evaluate whether the Armenian Minister of Finance is fit for his position. If not, then maybe replace him with a person who can calculate more impartially, that’s all. That is, here I see a problem precisely in the Finance Minister’s assessment,” he concluded.
