Samvel Karapetyan transferred to Yerevan-Kentron penitentiary

Samvel Karapetyan has been transferred to the Yerevan-Kentron penitentiary institution located in the building of the National Security Service of Armenia, Nona Navikyan, the press secretary of the Penitentiary Service, reported.

Karapetyan was arrested for a two-month period. He has been charged under Part 2 of Article 422 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to public calls for the usurpation of power, violation of territorial integrity, renunciation of sovereignty, or the violent overthrow of the constitutional order—committed through publicly displayed materials, mass media, or the use of information and communication technologies.
