Murder investigated in Aragatsotn province: 34-year-old Yerevan resident detained

A fatal conflict took place in the village of Parpi in Aragatsotn province. A 34-year-old resident of Yerevan, suspected of inflicting the fatal gunshot wound, has been detained.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the morning of October 20, at about 06:11, an alert from one of the capital’s hospitals reached the “112” operations center. An unidentified man with severe injuries had been brought to the facility and died without regaining consciousness.

During operational search measures, police established the chronology and circumstances of the incident. The conflict between the parties flared up at about 06:00 over a financial dispute. In the heat of the argument, the suspect shot his opponent. The weapon is believed to have been a converted gas pistol.

The suspect has been detained and handed over to investigative bodies. A preliminary investigation is under way into the incident.
