Heratsi High School students win prizes at Biology Olympiad in Indonesia

Students from the Heratsi High School showed brilliant success at the International Applied Biology Olympiad (IABO), securing the main prize, five gold medals, and one silver medal.

Six students from the Heratsi High School of YSMU qualified for the final round after successfully completing the online quarterfinal and semifinal stages.

The final stage of the Olympiad took place from June 27 to 30, 2025, in Denpasar, Indonesia.

Due to flight cancellations, the Heratsi School team was unable to fly to Indonesia, but with the support of the organizers, the Armenian students were able to participate remotely.

Despite technical challenges—particularly the 5:00 a.m. start time in Yerevan—the Armenian team delivered an exceptional performance, winning 5 gold and 1 silver medal, and the main prize of the Olympiad.

A total of 21 students from Armenia took part in the competition and earned 5 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze medals. All the gold medalists were students of the Heratsi High School of YSMU.
