Armenian chess players advance to second round of FIDE Women’s World Cup

Armenia’s national chess team leaders, Elina Danielian and Lilit Mkrtchian, have advanced to the second round of the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025 knockout tournament in Batumi, Georgia.
Danielian secured her spot by winning the second classical game of her match against Tajikistan’s Nadezhda Antonova, while Mkrtchian defeated Algeria’s Lina Nasr.
In the second round, scheduled from Wednesday to Friday, Elina Danielian will face Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria), while Lilit Mkrtchian will compete against Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poland).
