Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow consistently advocates for a sustainable resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. According to her, the current stage of normalization was made possible through Russia’s active involvement and the personal efforts of President Vladimir Putin.

Zakharova emphasized that between 2020 and 2022, key trilateral agreements were reached at the highest level through Moscow’s direct mediation. These agreements helped end the bloodshed and set the direction for the ongoing peace process.

Responding to journalists’ questions about the Trump Route (TRIPP) project in the South Caucasus, Zakharova stressed that the involvement of external players, such as the United States, must be accompanied by active participation from regional countries, particularly Russia.

She also reminded that Armenia is part of a unified customs space with Russia, and that Russian border services are stationed on Armenian territory, along with operational elements of Russian railway infrastructure.
