Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Ankara is interested in implementing the “Zangezur corridor” project in a format fully aligned with Azerbaijan’s position. According to him, this corridor holds strategic importance both for the Middle Corridor and for ensuring land connectivity between Azerbaijan’s mainland and the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. Fidan emphasized that Turkey’s access through the Middle Corridor to the Turkic world and Central Asia is already yielding tangible results, and work in this direction continues.

Fidan noted that Turkey and Azerbaijan view the TRIPP project specifically within the framework of the “Zangezur corridor.” The document adopted on January 13 in Washington was thoroughly reviewed by the Turkish side and discussed for nearly two hours with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

“We learned Azerbaijan’s position, which is fundamentally important for us, and informed our president about the outcomes of the discussions,” Fidan said.
