Armenia will receive a loan of €70.4 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for reforms in its water sector.

The Water and Irrigation Services Enhancement Program is planned in two phases: the first phase will last 5 years with a budget of about $185 million, and the second phase will be around $250 million. The funds will be directed toward upgrading networks, managing irrigation infrastructure, and reforming the sector. Reservoirs are not included in the program. About $25 million in investments are planned for rural communities.

A draft law on ratifying the Water and Irrigation Services Enhancement Program Phase 1 loan agreement has been submitted to parliament.
