Court orders criminal case to be opened over hooliganism at Holy Etchmiadzin

A court has ordered that a criminal case be initiated over hooliganism at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. This was reported by lawyer Ara Zohrabyan.

“As you may recall, ten bishops who arrived on December 17, 2025, for a meeting with Nikol Pashinyan issued a statement calling on citizens to join them at Holy Etchmiadzin on December 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. and demand the resignation of the Catholicos of All Armenians.

Individuals who came on December 18 to the rally initiated by Nikol Pashinyan, calling for resignation, displayed hooligan behavior near the Cathedral,” the lawyer noted.
