Cher (Cheryl Sarkisian), an American singer of Armenian descent, actress, music producer, and film director, paid tribute at the 2026 Met Gala to her iconic 1974 look, making it even more striking. The same energy, the same attitude, but in a different era.

The 79-year-old star chose an outfit by Burberry, designed by Daniel Lee. The look was a modern reinterpretation of her famous 1974 dress by Bob Mackie, which she wore to her first Met Gala nearly 50 years ago.

Cher is a celebrated pop icon with Armenian roots. She is a recipient of the Academy Award, Emmy, Grammy, Golden Globe, the Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or, and the CFDA Fashion Award. Over the course of her career, she has received more than 250 international awards in music, television, and film. In 2026, she received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to music.
