Samvel Karapetyan, candidate for prime minister from the Strong Armenia party, explained at a press conference the phrase “our way” that led to his arrest.

“The expression ‘our way’ became a discourse at that moment. Instead, I could have said it like Vacho or Nikol. But in that moment, ‘our way’ is what came out. At the time I thought that Pashinyan might watch my interview and put an end to the repression against the Church, given my good reputation in the country. But not only did he not stop, he arrested me, began attacking our identity, and is shaming our nation around the world,” he said.

According to Karapetyan, if he comes to power, Armenia will develop at a rapid pace. “Our people have been saying for decades that they want change. First and foremost, that means a change of power, they want new approaches to governance. We will govern our way, we will lead the country toward rapid development and make changes across all sectors,” the candidate for prime minister stressed.
