Diana Ambartsumyan wins special prize in Italy

Diana Ambartsumyan, an opera singer and laureate of international and all-Russian competitions, represented Armenia at the prestigious International Opera Singers Competition “Città di Alcamo” in Sicily. She was awarded the special prize “Borsa di studio della Fidapa.”
Diana received her training at the Krasnodar Music College and the Moscow State Conservatory. In 2023, she made her debut in the role of Zemfira in Rachmaninoff’s opera “Aleko” at the Hermitage Theatre, and later became a soloist of the Youth Opera Programme of the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she performed the role of Micaela in Bizet’s “Carmen.”
The “Città di Alcamo” competition brings together vocalists from around the world each year. This year, 49 performers from 15 countries competed for cash prizes and scholarships.
