The question of Armenia’s choice of further path of economic integration remains open, Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the President of Russia, told journalists.
“The question of the choice of the further path of economic integration [of Armenia] remains open,” Peskov said. According to him, Russia continues its dialogue with Armenia.
Peskov noted that there are political forces in Armenia that support the Russian vector of development and integration processes involving Russia.
“Of course, we remain in dialogue with our Armenian friends and will continue to do so,” Peskov said.
He added that Moscow had heard statements that Armenia would not engage in anti-Russian rhetoric.
It should be noted that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Armenia is expected on May 26. In this regard, journalists suggested that anti-Russian statements might be made during the meeting, and asked Peskov how the Kremlin views such a practice.
“Recently we heard statements from both Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, that Armenia will not engage in anti-Russian rhetoric. We heard those statements,” Peskov said.
