300,000 Azerbaijanis are standing ready to pour into Armenia by car and by train: Samvel Karapetyan

Yesterday, on May 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that “the Akhalkalaki–Kars railway, like the Azerbaijani railway, is now open for exports from Armenia and imports into Armenia.” “This is a major event in the economic life of our country. I thank our partners from Turkey and Georgia,” the prime minister wrote on his Facebook page.

Commenting on the topic, Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the “Strong Armenia” party and candidate for prime minister, noted that the current authorities are not taking into account the possible security risks and strategic threats involved.

“All that matters to them is that their leaders are kept satisfied. And why are they planning to open the railway? Because 300,000 Azerbaijanis are ready to arrive in Armenia both by car and by train,” he said.

According to Karapetyan, through all their actions the authorities are damaging relations with Armenia’s main economic partner — Russia.
