Donald Trump’s Peace Council fund has received no funding four months after its creation.
As the Financial Times reports, not a single dollar has reached the organization’s accounts, despite donor pledges totalling $17 billion. Of that, $7 billion was to be provided by member states of the council, while another $10 billion was to come from the US budget.
The outlet notes that the fund has found itself in a state of political and legal uncertainty, which is stalling the launch of Gaza reconstruction projects. Previously, 19 countries signed the Peace Council’s charter, and the White House proposed that more than 50 states join the initiative.
