The authorities are destroying Armenia’s agriculture by paving the way for Turkish goods: Robert Kocharyan

Robert Kocharyan, Armenia’s second president, leader of the Armenia bloc, and candidate for prime minister, commented to journalists in Noyemberyan on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that he is prepared to compensate agricultural losses. Kocharyan said that, in his view, Pashinyan is far from basic arithmetic and does not know the volume of agricultural products exported to Russia.
Kocharyan stressed that Armenia has no capacity to compensate people for their losses.
“These people simply have no idea what it means to export agricultural products to Europe. They will not be able to export anything there for the next 10 years. These are very lengthy and complicated procedures, and European farmers do not allow just anyone into that market,” the president said.
According to Kocharyan, there is only one solution to the economic catastrophe that, in his view, Pashinyan has brought upon the country, it is to reject him.
“The current authorities are destroying Armenia’s agriculture, presumably in order to clear the way for Turkish goods. Either these people are deliberately harming our nation and our rural communities, or they are indeed carrying out an order,” Kocharyan added.
