Moscow does not intend to pay for Yerevan’s path to the European Union, which is engaged in supporting Kyiv’s terrorists. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, at a briefing on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

“Especially, we do not intend to pay for the path to the European Union. This union pursues an openly hostile line towards our country and other countries of the world and supports Kyiv’s terrorists. Not just supports, but finances,” she said.

The diplomat emphasized that Armenia will not succeed in sitting on two chairs between the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union. “We have heard the game of verbal balancing regarding the CSTO. That the CSTO has left Armenia. But here it was not possible to come up with any formulations. Armenia did not leave the EAEU,” Zakharova continued.

She also noted that the approach of the Armenian leadership, “in which Yerevan intends to sit on two chairs, does not suit anyone.” “I think that in any case, those who ‘put the chestnuts in the fire’ will have to make a decision. The election campaign has nothing to do with it. This is a matter of a clear definition of the course that they plan to pursue,” she concluded.
