The Armenian election results will allow Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to form a government and continue his course toward achieving peace with Azerbaijan, normalizing relations with Turkey, and deepening ties with the West. This is according to the analytical center Stratfor.

At the same time, analysts assess that the ruling Civil Contract party may not have enough mandates to make constitutional changes without opposition support.

This, as noted, will complicate the fulfillment of a number of Azerbaijan’s demands.

The piece also states that the strengthened position of the pro-Russian opposition may increase the level of domestic political competition and heighten the government’s vulnerability to Russian political and economic pressure.
