The June 7 parliamentary elections were not free and fair: Aram Vardеvanyan

The parliamentary elections held in Armenia on June 7 were not free and fair. Aram Vardevanyan, member of the Strong Armenia party, stated this at a press conference.
According to him, the period from February 7 to June 7, 2026, as well as the time from June 7 to 14, are being examined to substantiate this claim.
“The first glaring violation is related to the fact that a party-state is being formed in the Republic of Armenia, where the activities of the party and the executive branch are becoming intertwined. As a first concrete example, I would like to cite the pension increase. It is clear that social problems exist in Armenia, and a 10,000-dram pension increase was an anticipated reform. But it did not happen in 2022, nor in 2023, it happened precisely in March–April 2026,” Vardevanyan noted.
