Employees of the Ararat brandy-wine-vodka plant, owned by Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, are holding a protest rally outside the plant, demanding to be allowed to return to normal work.

“We have loans, we owe the banks. Who’s going to pay for us? What’s the workers’ fault in all of this? I’ve worked here for eight years, and there’s never been a single day of delayed wages. What is the government thinking?” one participant said, expressing her bewilderment.

According to her, if the plant remains closed for a long time, they plan to block all the streets.
