In recent years, significant positive changes and numerous programs have been implemented in Armenia’s agricultural sector. This was stated in the National Assembly by Babken Tunyan, candidate for the position of Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.

“The main problem in discussing agriculture is that we actually know very little about this sphere. Our agricultural statistics are extremely arbitrary. When the Statistical Committee publishes data on growth or decline, I treat it with great caution, since it’s unclear what it’s based on,” Tunyan emphasized.

Responding to a question from Harutyun Mnatsakanyan, a lawmaker from the “Strong Armenia” faction, about his vision for the sector’s development, Tunyan noted: “Armenian agriculture is gradually moving along the path of diversification and bringing itself into line with international standards.”
