Head of Azerbaijani diaspora in Moscow deported from Russia

Bakhtiyar Hasanov, head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Moscow, has been deported from Russia. This is according to Azerbaijani media.

According to the information, Hasanov was taken from a temporary detention center for migrants to the airport, after which he was expelled from the Russian Federation.

Hasanov heads the National-Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis of Moscow. Last year, he was stripped of his Russian citizenship. In June 2026, he was detained by law enforcement authorities and placed in a temporary detention center for migrants pending deportation.
