The language of blackmail with Russia no longer works: Tigran Kocharyan on Armenia’s withdrawal from the CSTO

Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister, has constantly tried to speak to Russia in the language of blackmail. If this worked to some extent before, it no longer does now, said Tigran Kocharyan, Editor-in-Chief of the agency, live on Alpha News.

“If you don’t want to stay in the CSTO, then leave, no one is holding you back,” he noted.

According to Kocharyan, Armenia has been talking on and off about freezing its participation in the CSTO for at least 2-3 years now. “If we’re supposed to leave the CSTO, well, leave, what’s stopping you? If you said it, do it,” he added.

In the opinion of the Editor-in-Chief of Alpha News, the authorities are trying to use the shift in foreign policy direction to mask their own failures.

“In my view, Pashinyan is doing this out of desperation, because he is unable to solve the problems with exports. Today he is placing the blame for our problems on the opposition, but the reason for all of this is his incompetent foreign policy,” Kocharyan emphasized.
