Following the 2026 parliamentary elections in the Republic of Armenia, a new political reality has taken shape. This reality must also be reflected in the political approach to the Artsakh issue and in the work of the Artsakh authorities, said Nzhdeh Iskandaryan, State Minister of Artsakh.

In this context, the Artsakh authorities have begun political consultations with Armenia’s parliamentary and non-parliamentary political forces.

The purpose of the consultations is to clarify how Armenia’s political forces envision the future work of and cooperation with the Artsakh authorities, what their position is on preserving Artsakh’s state institutions and protecting the rights of the Artsakh people, and how prepared they are to take practical steps in these directions.

It is already evident today that the question of whether the Artsakh authorities’ activity should end or continue can no longer remain at the level of assumptions, individual statements, or political silence, Iskandaryan noted.
