Moscow and Tehran interested in continuing to coordinate approaches within “3+3” platform

On September 10, Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, met with Mehdi Sobhani, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

At the meeting, the two sides confirmed both countries’ commitment to implementing joint infrastructure projects in the South Caucasus.

“The talks included a productive exchange of views on a number of pressing bilateral and regional issues, with a focus on the situation in the South Caucasus. Both sides expressed mutual interest in continuing close coordination between Moscow and Tehran within the ‘3+3’ regional cooperation platform (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia plus Russia, Iran, Turkey),” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement says.

Both sides also confirmed their commitment to implementing joint infrastructure projects in the region, primarily those related to the development of the “North-South” International Transport Corridor.
