Helicopter carrying journalists crashes in Los Angeles: three people killed

A news helicopter crash in the US has left three people dead. A helicopter used by local media for live broadcasts covering various events crashed in a suburb of Los Angeles, killing three people at least, NBC News reports.

The incident occurred late last night near the site of a major traffic accident in a suburb of Los Angeles — the San Fernando Valley. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the helicopter went down between two buildings onto a parking lot, where a fire broke out.

According to emergency services representatives, four victims were found at the scene in total: three were pronounced dead on site, and one more was taken to the hospital, their condition unknown. Due to severe damage to the helicopter, the exact number of people on board has not yet been established.
