From aspiring to Europe to rising prices: Yerevan residents compare Armenia’s path to Georgia’s

The prices of basic necessities in Armenia continue to rise rapidly. According to Yerevan residents surveyed by Alpha News, the deterioration in relations between Yerevan and Moscow has directly driven up prices on the domestic market. City residents believe that the sharp reversal in foreign policy is already hitting citizens’ wallets.

“We’re striving toward Europe, yet right before our eyes is Georgia’s years-long experience, where the same scenario played out. While the authorities collect their bonuses and act as they please, nobody is thinking about the social condition of the people,” one participant in the Alpha News survey said.
