Moldovan PM calls for prayers for a warm winter amid energy crisis

Vasily Tofan, Prime Minister of Moldova, called on the country’s residents to pray for a warm and mild winter amid the energy crisis.

On September 22, the Moldovan Parliament introduced a 60-day state of emergency in the energy and hydrology sectors. The opposition has repeatedly accused President Maia Sandu’s team of incompetence and an inability to cope with the economic and energy crisis amid the severance of traditional economic ties with the CIS.

“Those of us who still go to church and light candles should pray for two important things, that this insane war in the Persian Gulf ends and that we have a warm winter,” Tofan told reporters.

According to him, if the winter is mild and damp, the country will face road problems due to temperature fluctuations, but such weather will help people survive under high tariffs and ensure a good harvest.
