EU will not welcome Armenian products with open arms: Russian Foreign Ministry

The EU’s internal market is competitive and heavily regulated, and Armenian products will not find comfortable conditions there, Vladislav Maslennikov, Director of the European Issues Department at Russia’s Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“The harsh reality is that the EU’s internal market is very competitive and heavily regulated, and Armenian products will definitely not be welcomed there with open arms,” Maslennikov said.

At the same time, the diplomat noted, candidate countries, as practice shows, may have to wait for EU membership not just for years, but for decades.
